Phones 4U upgrades to Johnson Fellows

Leading mobile phone retailer Phones 4U has appointed chartered surveyors Johnson Fellows to handle its portfolio of more than 650 stores across the UK, it was announced today (Monday, November 12).

The appointment is a major coup for Birmingham-based retail specialist Johnson Fellows.

Johnson Fellows partner Nick Wint said: “We will be handling all of the English, Irish and Welsh landlord and tenant work involving Phones 4U’s portfolio of more than 650 stores and seeing where we can add value to the businesses estate.

“It’s terrific for us to be working alongside the country’s leading mobile phone retailer. Phones 4U particularly wanted to appoint a retail specialist and they know that we are very good at what we do in this sector.”

A team, led by Nick, will carry out rent reviews and lease renewals in a proactive campaign that could involve more than 100 instructions each year.

Phones 4U’s group estates manager James Whiteman said: “Johnson Fellows are now a key partner to our business and this new instruction is directly attributable to the commercial value that has been achieved to date and their extensive knowledge of the retail and property markets. They truly understand our property requirements, what we want and will assist with the delivery of our business plan over the course of the next few years.”
